Was there a Crucial SSD firmware update to fix this issue?I think there are a lot of people that just install an SSD, get it working and just assume it's running at the correct speed.

Hi, I have a late 2009 i Mac 11,1 and am looking to put an SSD in place of the optical drive.

This model uses an Intel 5 series chipset and I've seem some reports of "negotiated link speed" dropping to 1.5Gigabits rather than 3Gigabits depending on the brand and speed of the drive.

Some report SATA III drives drop to SATA I speeds rather than defaulting to SATA II.It appears to be similar to the Macbook/Nvidia 2009 issues (thought I don't know if they're related). Some vendors (Sandisk) have released firmware specifically to keep the drive at SATA II speeds, requiring updating the firmware again if you ever want to run it as SATA III.I've seen other reports on this board where the Nvidia chipset Macbook will run at 3Gigbits, then drop to 1.5 if put to sleep or rebooted.Only restarting or resetting the SMC and restarting fix the problem.I've heard some success stories with Crucial SSDs and was wondering if anyone could shed any light on the situation with this model i Mac.
