Would it make sense to buy Kinect just to do what any high end web cam today can do on Skype?

No, even I as a heavy Kinect user personally feel my webcam outperforms Kinect as it captures more lightfor example, making me wholly viewable on just the glow of my display during late night calls. Xbox One should have a feature where people such as streamers and people using Skype who don't have the money and whose console didn't come with kinect should be able to use a USB webcam to stream and answer with video on Skype.

Kinect does not do that all that well so therefore the best course of action is to enable USB Webcams for use on Skype with Xbox One.

We just recently set up a reef tank in the office and wanted a cool way to check on it while we were away (we are total dorks, we know). It was cheap and easy and with No-IP, you can check in online, even if you have one of those pesky dynamic IPs. Just make sure that you aren’t invading anyone’s privacy or breaking any of these laws. You can find a cheap one online, we ordered ours from Amazon. Our reef tank cam is attached with electrical tape to the side of the tank.

Monitor your front door, security for your office, your refrigerator, or anything!

We also have other office cams that are mounted to the ceiling. In order to see your webcam easily over the Internet, you will need to create an account with us.

Step 4: Once you have completed the above steps, it is time to login to your camera via the host you created to see what your fish are up to!

You just need to make sure the webcam’s software is launched and ready to accept Internet connections. A quick and easy way to set up a webcam on a dynamic IP address.

Family has a restaurant with with an extra dining room that cannot SEE our live music being performed in the main dining room.

They want to put an LCD display on the wall, point a camera at the bands, and have it display on the TV so that diners can watch.

What is the best way to do this without dedicating an entire computer? I presume you are using a USB webcam, so that won't work, you need a camera with a video output not USB, otherwise you'll need some sort of device (computer/tablet) to convert from USB to video (HDMI, composite etc).
